Muriel Eulich

Born in Paris, France to a family of renowned French artists, Muriel Eulich has always treasured and nurtured creativity - in herself and others. As a registered professional Art Therapist, Muriel spent many years working in a psychiatric prison facility, the VA hospital, Children’s’ Hospital, community mental health drop-in centers, in private practice, and also taught at the university level.

After her three children were born, Muriel spent more time committed to her own painting (and that was thirty some years ago).  As she works today in her studio, she feels such gratitude and deep fulfillment in these opportunities to explore the awakening of dreams and symbols as well as the exploration of the exquisite beauty of people from all walks of the world. Because of her graduate studies and professional experiences, as an Art Therapist she wants to tell you a story in an expression, subtle body language, or gesture.  The painting always begins from a space deep within as a way to express the beauty and mystery of the world around her.

In her watercolors, Muriel tries to capture the essence of the human spirit - indigenous people, rugged cowboys, gestures and glances of mothers and their children, and a series of work on women survivors of breast cancer.  More recently she is exploring painting with a flat brush which produces a pattern of square marks, in addition to more patterning with stencils.  There is a vibrant energy in her paintings - femininity with solid base of strength and voice.  She has a special love of color and is fascinated by the tension and vibration created between colors.  Characterized by an intensity of pigment unusual in watercolor, Muriel’s work shimmers with vibrancy and vitality.

“The privilege of a lifetime is to become who you really are” wrote Carl G. Jung.  Muriel’s art reflects her intense love of life and creativity.  She enjoys sharing her paintings and hopes that they will enhance other’s lives as much as they have her own.
